Wintertime Carousel is the newest project in Simon Adler’s development as a songwriter. Simon Adler, born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin now resides in Eugene, Oregon, studying at the University of Oregon. Here he has experimented with sounds and musical ideas that have coalesced into a new musical project, Wintertime Carousel. Wintertime Carousel combines reverb soaked guitars, simple drumbeats, solid bass lines, slides, and vocal harmonies creating a unique indie folk rock sound. Interestingly, Wintertime Carousel exists in a diploid state, calling home to both the Eugene and Eau Claire music scenes. The Eugene band consists of Simon Adler, Evan Marquardt, Leo Lober-Tracy, Ben Rice, and Ryan Tarbet. Together they are recording the band’s debut album: Grief in Movement. Half way across the country exists a second incarnation of Wintertime Carousel (formerly Wide Plans of a Palindrome) exists, this time comprised of Simon Adler, Elliott Adler, Karl Markgraf, and Patrick Kuehn. With this variety of members, influences, and ideas, Wintertime Carousel is able to produce an original sound, brining together the north woods feel of Wisconsin and the chillness that is the West Coast.
Grief in Movement is now for sale for $8.00
